January - 1. Thomas Valpy French




January 1, 1825, Birth of Thomas Valpy French, missionary in India and Persia, became the first 
Bishop of Lahore. He founded the St. John’s College at Agra, learnt seven languages, went to 
Pakistan, and started a mission station there. He supervised the translation of the Bible and 
Prayer Book into Hindustani and Pashto, made visits to Kashmir and Iran and went to Muscat to 
become the first missionary to visit the region.

                                                   January - 2. Rachel Saint



January 2, 1914,  Birth of Rachel Saint. Rachel Saint worked for Wycliffe Bible Translators, was the older sister of Nate saint, the missionary who was one of the five killed by the Auca tribe.  This didn’t deter here but rather intensified her passion to go to them. Rachel and Elisabeth Elliot, the wife of Jim Elliot were invited to live with the Auca tribe. Rachel stayed with the Auca tribe until her death and was buried there. God used them to give the message of Love.
